Wonderful Way to Waste Time! Are you Paid to Drink Coffee?

If you want to spend hours accomplishing absolutely nothing, this is a great and entertaining way to do it!
I am honored to be a small part of this tremendous loss of productivity!

Hadley's Date Shake, Mad About You and Bruno Kirby

I was going through my desk yesterday and I ran across this postcard from Hadley Fruit Orchards.
The postcard became a MEMORY TRIGGER:

One of my favorite roles, really a career changing role for me was when I played the very Grumpy "Dante" on the wonderful Paul Reiser/Helen Hunt sitcom Mad About You. (The show was created by Paul along with Danny Jacobson and Executive produced by Larry Charles, Richard Day and Marjorie Weitzman)
I also worked with the great actor Bruno Kirby and between set-ups we were talking about driving to Palm Springs.(I think I was planning to go that weekend) That's when Bruno described for me the best Date Shake in the world, (which he maintained was sold at Hadley's just off the highway on the way to Palm Springs.)
Now I'm the kind of guy who takes stuff like this seriously. So on my next trip out to the desert oasis I procured one of those shakes and found Mr. Kirby to be absolutely correct.
(At this point I have to add that what I mean exactly is that the Date shake was fantastic in every way; creamy, cold, sweet, fresh etc. But I have never been anywhere else where "Date Shakes" were sold. I just can't imagine having a better date shake.)
---Actually now that I think of it Bruno might have just said that they have a wonderful date shake there or something like that--- this is the trouble with memory.
Bottom line: I've stopped at Hadley's on at least three different occasions and each time their date shake completely satisfied. ( I like their Date/ Banana combination the best)
Have a Great Day!

Paulie's family Cruise

I'm Back!
Man-oh-man oh-man did we have a great time!
Mexico was absolutely beautiful and the people were fantastic.
We cruised from LA down to Puerto Vallarta, then to Mazatlan, over to Cabo San Lucas and back to Los Angeles.
All in all a perfect 7-day vacation.
I am not a paid spokesperson for Princess Cruises, but this was our third experience with the line and we were once again delighted with the service, food and attention to detail plus they have lots of fun activities for kids.
Here is a picture I took as we were leaving Mazatlan.

David Lynch

I am a huge David Lynch fan, one of my goals is to work with him one day. I never leave anything he does without thinking about it for days afterward.
This is an amazing European market Cigarette commercial he made.
It will blow you away.

UNO with my Family

Cracked out the Uno on Friday night and repeated the process on Saturday night. There is a reason you never hear anybody saying that they didn't have fun playing this game...because it is my opinion that that statement would be false!
This is a fantastic game and it is once again positioned at the top of my game pile.

PS: They changed the card design from when I played it as a kid. But after a round or two I got used to it.(The advantage now is that it is truly an international game.)

Unan1mous

Fox's new reality show: Unan1mous
I like this show! (I seem to following right along as we slip deeper and deeper into the circus.)
While watching last night,I could almost taste the stale air.
Here is an excellent review of the show.

Sunday Night,Tony Sirico and Paulie "Walnuts" Mom

Every Sunday night at 9 PM (I still don't have TIVO) you can find me doing one thing and one thing only: Absorbing the David Chase epic The Sopranos, arguably the greatest show that has ever appeared on Television.
You've heard it all before ie: the fantastic Cast, the Writing, the Direction. The scope of the show continues to amaze me.
(All my efforts to secure a meeting on this show, have so far been unsuccessful, but I remain hopeful)
In last night's episode Paulie "Walnuts" Gualtieri played with blood-letting honesty by one of the finest actors working today: Tony Sirico, finds out that his Aunt Dottie the nun is his real mother. Holy Toledo! Paulie did not need this. Everybody please click your violence dials about four settings higher.

PS: Great surprise to see Hal Holbrook as Tony's hospital neighbor.

April Fool's Day , The Spaghetti Tree, And Too Much Rain in LA

Happy April Fool's Day Everyone!
I won't bore you with any elaborate and ultimately unsatisfying or just plain boring gotcha.
However, there are some first of April hoaxes worthy of a second look.
For instance: The BBC's Spaghetti Tree.

(And on a whole other note as a weather-spoiled denizen of SoCal I have to gripe.)
As I sit here typing I'm watching dark clouds rolling past my office window yet again. Please no more rain in LA!! What about that song?(You know: It Never Rains in California or something like that)
Any way as always, I wish you all the very Best!
